About

Built on service. Focused on what works.

A Virginia veteran-owned small business helping smaller organizations use technology well — without the jargon, the oversell, or the enterprise price tag.

The Background

Twenty years of leadership and technology.

GipperNet's foundation is Marine Corps service: mission planning, accountability, and the habit of preparing before things go wrong — not after. Twenty years of leading teams and planning operations where the details actually mattered.

That carried into more than fifteen years in IT and cybersecurity — building and protecting systems, running security assessments, planning for incidents, and writing the documentation teams rely on when it counts. That work continues today in federal cyber planning.

GipperNet exists because smaller organizations get the worst of the technology market. They're sold things they don't need, in language they can't check, at prices built for companies ten times their size. We do the opposite: understand the problem first, recommend only what helps, and explain all of it in plain English.

AI is part of that work — a genuinely useful tool when it fits. It just isn't the whole job, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Jason, founder of GipperNet

Jason

Founder & Principal Consultant

Jason, I'm a retired U.S. Marine, cyber operations planner, early CrossFit gym founder, and lifelong builder of teams, systems, and slightly ambitious ideas.

I enjoy taking complicated problems, asking better questions, and creating solutions that are practical, secure, and genuinely useful. My work spans cybersecurity, systems and cloud technology, websites, and AI — and helping people feel more confident using all of it.

As the founder of GipperNet, I bring together mission-focused leadership, technical curiosity, and a belief that the best ideas usually start with, "There has to be a better way to do this."

Principles

How we operate

Prepare before you need to

Readiness is built in calm conditions. We help you find weaknesses before an incident — or an AI rollout — finds them for you.

Complete the mission, capture the method

Every engagement ends with documentation your team can run without us. If it only works when we're in the room, it doesn't work.

Technology enabled, human accountable

AI can draft, sort, and summarize. It doesn't get to decide. Every workflow we build keeps a person at the approval point.

Start small, prove it, grow

One defined problem, one engagement, one measurable outcome. Trust is earned in increments — so is automation.

Shell Shock Foundry

Prototype first. Productize what works.

The Foundry is GipperNet's internal workshop — where websites, systems, security configurations, and workflows get built and tested before they ever reach a client.

Everything we recommend, we've run ourselves first.

  • Tools and methods tested internally before delivery
  • Infrastructure and systems experiments
  • Security testing of our own processes
  • Continuous refinement of templates and documentation
